I'm not sure if this is the right place to post or not but will give this a shot and will probably post over on the heart board as well. Can anybody give me any information on this? This is the diagnosis for my mom. Or at least that is what the nurse coded in when we were setting up mom up for a doppler test on her legs for tomorrow.
She has had a heart catch and TEE which should her mitral valve leaking less than 40% but her lung pressure is at 60% and went up to 80% during the heart cath. She is short of breath and has quite a bit of swelling in her ankles and feet.
Are there any other tests we should ask for and what types of treatments/medications are there for this. She is already on lasix and comouin for an aortic valve replacement 22 years ago - which is working fanastic yet.

- im not sure here, you should go for xray and CBC. This could be atrial enlargement which lead to the accumulation of blood in the lungs... which led to ankle swelling or edema which is one of the symptoms of right heart failure. check with your doctor.
Digoxin is usually used for heart failure. Ace inhibitors (, diuretics, and beta blockers for chronic heart failure.
